Blender Bottle Review

Hey Guys!

I was browsing through my old posts when I realized how infrequently I’ve been fulfilling the health segment of my blog.  I usually stick to fashion and beauty youtube videos, which is why health (which is just as important) falls on the backburner.  Although, my health posts are pretty scarce, it’s a major part of my day-to-day life.  I figure today is the day to break my hiatus by talking to you about one of my newest obsessions.

About the bottle:

You might say that it’s just a bottle, but oh… it is so much more!  The Blender Bottle is a relatively new phenomenon to catch on.  I’ve seen these sold in many health and supplement stores along with my local 24Hr Fitness club.  The bottle itself is really nice for on-the-go use because of its sturdy closure, and is ideal for keeping track of intake due to the handy measurement along the side.  So far I’ve described a really nice water bottle, but what makes this bottle really special is the golf-ball shaped whisk that comes tucked away inside.  The whisk is great for blending ingredients inside of the bottle efficiently and mess free.

Uses:

My reason for purchasing this bottle was to blend my own protein shakes when I’m on the go.  Anyone who’s tried to blend their own protein drinks knows that most protein powders are not the most delicious, the worst being when mid-chug you gulp a glob of dried powder (Yuck).  Since using the Blender Bottle I have been clump free! J  In my excitement about my new find I decided to visit the Blender Bottle website (www.blenderbottle.com) to learn more about my purchase.  Along with showing me more of their products, the site was helpful in showing me how else to use my bottle.  Some of the uses were a bit self-explanatory (Use it as a water bottle?  Who woud have thought!), but then there were a million and one other great ways to use the bottle in day-to-day cooking (scrambling eggs, making salad dressing, etc).  If you decide to purchase a bottle, I would suggest visiting the website as it can teach you great (healthy) recipes to get you started. My favorite recipe is a healthier indulgence and tastes great!  Go check out the Cinnamon Roll Protein Shake.  You won’t be sorry ;)

X-Out Wash-in Treatment Review (Acne Product)

Hey Guys!

I just wanted to take this time to tell you about this new acne product developed by ProActiv.  First off, I feel like I should tell you that this product was graciously sent to me by the AMAZING Influenster.com, who allowed me to review their Holiday VoxBox (Register for free!).  Now, I have been living a constant acne battle since around the age of 12.  I have used just about EVERY non-prescription acne treatment out there, seen a dermatologist, and tried several different prescription products to no avail... until now.  Now, I'm not going to lie and tell you that this is a MIRACLE product that completely cured my acne, but it did significantly clear my skin after only a few uses.

This product comes in a pump container and can be used in three different ways: as a face wash, spot treatment, or face mask.  The active ingredient in this product is benzoyl peroxide, which I have tried several times, without achieving the same affect as with this product.  The first night of use, I used the product as a face wash and went to bed directly after use.  In the morning when I woke up, I noticed that my skin was not nearly as blotchy and that the size of many zits were reduced.  Now, it's hard to tell if it was this product that worked so incredibly fast or if it was just time for my skin to clear, but after a few more days of use (twice a day) it became clear that this product was a keeper.  I eventually added the Clean & Clear  Advantage Mark Treatment with salicylic medication in conjunction with the X-Out treatment, and my skin has continued to be much happier with me :)  This product is definitely worth a try.  I plan to repurchase this treatment in the future!  Let me know how this product worked for you.

Until Next Time!

imPress Press on Manicure Review

Hey Everyone!

So if you have watched my Influenster.com video, you know that I am a huge fan of Influenster.  In a nutshell, they are a company that selects members according to their participation to receive free boxes of a variety of products in exchange for feedback (Starting in 2012 you must be invited to become a member).

One of the products my "Holiday Voxbox" that I received was a package of fake nails from Broadway Nails that works a little bit differently.  They came in the cute packaging pictured above in a set of 24 differently sized nails.  The number they give you is really very helpful, as each one is a different size so you will be able to find a very close fit to your actual nails.  Also, you can use some of the leftover nails (although they might be the leftover sizes) to replace damaged nails later on.

The nails are very easy to apply.  All you need to do is swab your nails with the included alcohol pad to wipe away any oils.  Then it's as easy as choosing the correct nail sizes, peeling off the backing to expose the sticky section, and carefully pressing them over your nails.  I was impressed (No pun intended) by the overall look of these nails.  They have a very nice finish and the red color which I received was perfect for the holidays.  Another pro is that they are very customizable.  Not only because of the extensive sizes, but it's also easy to clip and file them to achieve the desired shape and length.

One thing that I think could be improved upon is this products lasting power.  On the second day my first nail began to detach and I then pulled it off the rest of the way, because I found it to be distracting and bothersome.  I tried to make my manicure last by replacing nails as they became loose with the alternate sizes, trying to make them work.  This bought me an extra day of these beautiful nails, but by the end of the third day they weren't looking their best so I removed them all.

The verdict:  This is not a bad product at all, in fact I would highly recommend them for special occasions.  They look beautiful and I'm sure that you could rely on them to get you through a single event.  This manicure costs around $7, much below the usual rate of a salon manicure.  They are also great for people like me who don't like to take the time to shape, trim, and buff their nails.  This product will give you the instant perfect manicure.  My one complaint would be the product lifespan.

I do want to say thank you to both Influenster and Broadway Nails for giving me the chance to review this product for all of you!

Until next time,
Evy <3

Urban Decay Cheek Tint Review

Hello again!

As promised in my Zooey Deschanel makeup tutorial, I'm reviewing the new Urban Decay Glide-on Cheek Tint in Quickie.  Although I am a self-professed Urban Decay fanatic, I didn't actually buy this product.  The last time I was at Ulta I received a sample of this product after replenishing my extensive Urban Decay eyeshadow collection.  I'm excited to say that this blush rocked my world!  At first glance the color appeared WAY too pink for my taste, but to my surprise when applied it blended to a much more subdued color.  The color itself is buildable and can be worn as a subtle cheek color or a much brighter hue.  The shade reminds me of a very youthful, healthy, and cheerful color.  Coming from someone with pretty oily skin, this cheek tint is also very lightweight and has no stickiness to the touch.  I think that I almost prefer this formula to a regular powder blush, because it looks much fresher and dewier and is also much easier to control in the application (I just used my fingers).  I'm a pretty busy girl and I don't like to reapply my makeup very much throughout the day and it's nice to know that there's a blush I can count on to stay put for hours.  This blush also seems to be fragrance free.  The only downside that I can tell is that price.  Coming up with $24.00 for a blush can be a bit steep, but for a the quality and size of the product I think that it would be well worth it.

This blush probably won't replace my go-to shade, but I'll definitely get some good use out of it. This product is going to the top of my wishlist :)
